DOWNTOWN NEW WESTMINSTER

Downtown New Westminster asks you to dance.
Come walk her streets and perhaps, perchance
You’ll feel her magic, fall under her trance.
She’s one special lady full of romance.

The gateway to downtown is Hyack Square
With Heritage buildings on display there.
Antique Architecture beyond compare;
And quaint little shops nestled everywhere.

Dreams come alive on Columbia Street
And move to the groove of the city’s heartbeat.
A beautiful rhythm under the feet;
Friendly, smiling faces to meet and greet.

The bustling boardwalk at Westminster Quay
Beckons with treasures, a great sight to see.
Downtown is filled with old history and lore
Festivals, car shows, restaurants and more.

The pleasant aroma of coffee shops;
The friendly chatter heard at the bus stops;
The river’s whisper and cool moonlight walks;
The evening breezes and soft twilight talks

Downtown is filled with hospitality,
Moments to savour, we’ll give you the key.
Come visit us and make a memory.
Downtown New Westminster is the place to be!

RENAISSANCE, NEW WEST

A classy old gal this city of mine.
Romantic lines that have weathered tides,
Stories  behind every blemish and age line,
Awakening  from a long beauty nap.

Take a long cool drink of this river of youth,
Like plastic surgery, but, far more couth.
Deserving of her regal title,
Although "progress" left her sitting idle,
For far too long...

Time to get up my dusty Queen.
Time to feel like a Princess again.
Your subjects await.

PS New West Poem:

Sunshine on a summer breeze,
Lazy waves lap at river's edge,
This is my place. -Carolyn
